About Corpus Christi CYO Basketball: "The Lions!"
The CYO program at Corpus Christi was started in 1945. Today there are over 200 boys and girls in the CYO travel basketball program and over 100 boys and girls in the clinic program. Although winning is important, the program is designed with the purpose of developing young Christians. We are here teaching the children sportsmanship, what it is like to be part of a team, striving for improvement and having fun.
Corpus Christi has run a successful Children's Basketball Clinic for the past 20 years. The Clinic is geared towards Kindergarten thru 2nd grade boys and girls looking to learn the basics of basketball, while spending an enjoyable Saturday morning getting exercise at the gym. Volunteer Coaches teach upwards of 100 children each week. Older brothers and sisters, who play on Corpus Christi travel teams, are encouraged to participate as assistant coaches, making it a true family experience.
The Corpus Christi travel basketball program consists of boys and girls teams from the 3rd through the 12th grade. Teams compete against other parishes throughout Nassau County.
Known as "The Lions" come on down and see our pride and how we "roar"!
We always need coaches and volunteers to help make the program a success, Please consider volunteering! Training is provided for coaches.
